[Solved] Internet Access on Nokia C1-01
I have a contract with MTN but needed a temporary 'phone while waiting for a replacement. I purchased a Nokia C1-01 with a VodaCom SIMM card (which I haven't even opened). After fiddling around dialing *123# and following prompts after dialing 173, I was finally sent the "MTN-DATA" settings to allow internet access. The useless built-in browser now connects to the 'net. The phone also has OperaMini installed, but it can't connect to the 'net. I downloaded and installed the GMail application from the built-in browser, but it too can't connect to the 'net. Any ideas? The built-in browser internet logo thing shows the "MTN-DATA" connection, but it seems that other apps (OperaMini/GMail) can't use these settings? One of the reasons I got this 'phone was to get access to GMail while I wait for a replacement 'phone.
