Internet access on vps.co.za windows server?? help??

nope no connectivity at all... if the box had connectivity i wouldnt have a problem at all... RDP will be easy to setup but there is zilch connectivity at all... and this company is really getting on my nerves.... they only responded to me last night when i rebuilt the server multiple times... if i dont get a response by this evening i am going to rebuild that server till a tech comes knocking on my door because it looks like thats the only way to get thier attention... still no ticket replies, not call nothing...... totally shocking service..
Servers might not always have rdp access enabled by default. Please advise if windows is showing that it is connected to the Internet when logged on via console? If not, please have a look at the vm settings inside of control.vps.co.za

If the box can browse the net and ping Google you need to make sure that rdp is enabled and that the user you are attempting to access the server with is a member of the administrators group.

If you are still stuck drop me a pm, I've been using their cloud for hosted labs for quite a while now, might be able to help you further.

iv just loaded centos and still no net....

Must be something with your specific setup then. Mine has nothing but net :D

Hi Stillie,

Are you able to ping the gateway ip that you were provided with during setup?
It might be related to the VPS not being mapped to the correct vlan id within the hypervisior.

i cant ping the gateway ip from the VPS but i can ping it from external they working on it as we speak.

"Hello,

Please kindly await feedback, it's a real simple issue and will be resolved in the next few minutes."

this was the last ticket notification i received at 21:00 last action that i can see done on the server was it was shut down at 20:00...... sigh

Well, good luck mate. Unfortunately I've had to learn the hard way the value of decent support. I really hope they manage to sort this out for you soon. Otherwise, personally, I'd start looking elsewhere.

@stillie I'm sorry you experienced this issue, simply put, your VPS was created on Cloud "X" and your Network was on Zone "Y" - the two cannot see each other. This is being corrected and you will receive free credit for the issue experienced.

To clarify - all VMs are configured with full internet access, this was an isolated case and should never occur again :)

@ghoti - We understand that you were not satisfied with the support you received, you've made it clear on every single thread about us. Please also refrain from commenting with -incredibly- inaccurate information:

OnApp is a cheap cloud system to setup (well so far as cloud systems go) You only need 4 servers to start a cloud. I think VPS.co.za bought a bunch of servers at Mweb DC and got an OnApp installation going.

I really hope VPS.co.za sort their support out. I want them to do well, but the lack of support just shows me they are not willing to hire sufficient staff. That either means they are cutting cost corners too fine or are too greedy.

- There is nothing cheap about setting up a true cloud environment. We are also not a "free OnApp customer", we quite larger than that.
- We certainly did not "slap together a few severs", in fact, we have a few cabinets full of top quality hardware, fully owned too!
- We have invited you back in previous posts

We understand that support is major factor to our customers over and above the "full control" that they already receive and new members to our team will be introduced very soon - stay tuned :)

Thank you for the reply, its greatly appreciated but unfortunatly the damage has been done. if someone had just simply said this is the problem and we will have it rectified for you yesterday morning, i would gladly waited till it was fixed, but unfortunatly there was absolutely no communication, not even a call back when i was told twice that i will get called back.

i see now that i have connected to the server there is internet. thank you for fixing the "quick" problem 12hours later.

Also had a ticket with a delay last night but it wasn't critical for me. This morning they called to sort out an issue. I'm a new customer who is busy moving from a US based VPS to local. I'm very excited that a local solution is now comparable price wise to an international one. This has been years of waiting to get onshore.
