Hello

Throughout the whole of last year I had a problem with my internet. It would randomly just turn the DSL light off and It continued like this for the whole year up until the end, December. Now for some reason my internet will randomly stop working, e.g My teamspeak runs on IS server and it continues to work while things like Facebook and League of legends will stop running. Does anybody have any idea what could be causing this ?

Firstly, ADSL lights turning off on random either means you have a defective modem or your ADSL line is too noisy and you need a downgrade on your ADSL speed from Telkom.

As with your current issue, it seems like your local sites are fine (IS hosted) but your international sites are not working (facebook and LoL), check with your ISP if they are having issues with international connectivity. otherwise try pinging 8.8.8.8, might just be a DNS server issue.

EDIT: one more thing about your ADSL turning off, do you have POTS filters for all non ADSL devices on that line?
