Hi Guys

Does watching movies or playing music from a laptop connected to a smart TV via wifi use internet data?

Where is the movies? Is it being streamed from the 'net or on the laptop itself - the fact that you're asking this question has me wondering whether you in fact know.

Sorry the movies are sitting on my laptop. Im using an app called WonderShare to watch the movies on my laptop to my TV

It depends. Looking at the Wondershare app description on the Google playstore, in addition to "* Play Seamlessly between Android & Other Devices", it has a feature called "* Transfer via WiFi. This feature will need to work with Wondershare desktop programs installed on your PC so that you can easily play files saved on your computer, on your mobile terminal. Firstly, please install Wondershare AllMyTube for Mac or Wondershare Video Converter Ultima for Mac, then scan the QR code to establish a connection. Two simple steps will make it possible to upload and play any videos or music on your phone. Meanwhile, the programs mentioned above can help you download videos from any webistes (sic) and convert them into your favorite format(s)."

If I were you, I would pop the devs a note at [email protected] and ask them the question directly, then validate it with a sniffer.
