Just wondering which hogs the bandwidth badly? If i listen to i.e 198kbps Radio streaming for 2 hours or watch about three youtube videos which is better in bandwith, or maybe my comparison is not valid?
198kbps is a bit too high for internet radio, we stream a couple of radio station`s audio live on 46kbs that is equivalent to CD quality. If you listen to live radio streaming for 2 hours on 46kbps you will use about 120 - 180 Mb. Some youtube videos can eat up your bandwidth between 20 Mb for a small file to 200 Mb per medium to large file. So i would say youtube eats up more bandwidth due to it has video, and quality is somewhat a problem with compressed video files.
