Internet search engines suck!

Hi guys

Anybody else experiencing a very low level of quality in search results across ALL search engines on the internet?
Take for example this search: "Internal Solid State" drives, 2TB or larger...and the first item picked up is external and the second item is 0.120GB in size.

The same poor quality happens on ALL websites (www.google.com, www.takealot.com, www.bidorbuy.co.za, etc.)

Damn annoying looking for specifics.

That's normally because the first results are paid for by advertisers.

I have the same Problem on Pornhub. I will search for " Hung black Twinks" and then get a bunch of White old masc Jocks instead. Bloody annoying. Someone needs to reinvent the internet.

It is not on the search engines to be honest. Websites are crawled, and the right data needs to be served. In a highly competitive environment, it would matter a great deal, but Amazon is so highly ranked in some sections that getting you onto their website is ideal enough.

Internet search engines are now gamed. I figured this out a while ago. The highest bidders override all search results. Its called SEO.

If all else fails, try AskJeeves or Aardvark ...

You say all search engines, but your list only contains 1, i.e. Google.

Shopping sites do have a search bar, but I believe they still use Google search algorithms in the back end.

That said, I do find the Google shows me the best results when I want to buy something - but that is just me.
