internet settings for 8520

Hi

Bought a 8520 yesterday from vodacom(since mtn did not have it).

We are now trying to get the internet to work on it. We do not want BIS, jus the normal mtn gprs settings. Anybody have any idea what it is? MTN says they cant help.

*123# then follow the prompts. they will send you the settings OTA

nope - dont work.

Is internet activated on the sim card? If not put it in another phone and request the gprs settings. When that phone can use the internet then it is activated on the sim. However without BIS there's very little you can do on a Blackberry - e-mail will not work, many applications like Facebook, Instant Messaging, etc will not work. You really should get BIS without it Blackberry's are useless.

Yep...Blackberry will not connect to the internet without BIS.
BIS works out to about R2 a day for unlimited internet access.

Try it out for a while...BIS is charged pro-rata if activated during the month on contract. Not sure about prepaid.
