Internet shutdowns a huge concern across Africa

You keep harping on with this nonsense. It does not prove in any sense whatsoever that having internet is a BASIC HUMAN RIGHT.

Maybe you should read it first?

Stop making a fool of yourself.
I am not the one trying to express civil liberties as a math equation. And then acting all silly and in denial that a court ruling does not now mean a right when that is what courts due, affirm rights. You silly little child.

By your own logic then, because air is not expressly defined as a basic human right in any constitution or rights charter, it is therefore not a basic human right.

The courts however would disagree and say that air is automatically a basic human right as the right to life is a sacred one, not just a basic human right and need.

If one follows the reasoning used by legal experts the past couple of centuries, then, based on not just the constitutions of many countries, but also the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which contain Article 19, Freedom of Expression, then the right to communicate, through whatever means, is a protected one and as such also the internet. Meaning that internet is a basic human right because it falls under the right of freedom of speech.

If you however disagree, please remember this when someone cuts off your oxygen supply. They aren't murdering you; you just don't have it as a basic human right since our oxygen-based air isn't a right - according to your own draconian reasoning.

But I can see why you are confused, you think internet is synonymous with porn. If internet only contained porn, then I would agree with you. However, I prefer to think I am not as narrow minded as the liberal democratic slave traders that went to war to protect their right to own slaves. Now that is something that isn't a right.

I'd love to hear your explanation of where you came up with THIS bit of spectacular drivel? Should be entertaining.

Stop projecting your insecurities onto me...and "slave traders"?? Jirre, you're off the track, that's quite obvious.

You keep waffling on and on and it's quite obvious your whole "argument" is purely based on your emotions. Show me where the court ruled that internet is a BASIC HUMAN RIGHT.

You're confusing civil liberties with human rights...because that's the way YOU want to see it.

Food, water and shelter is a basic human RIGHT...things you will die without. That's why the municipality in SA cannot cut your water completely OFF when you don't pay your bill.

Internet is not a human RIGHT FFS...you won't die if you don't have internet.

It is a luxury at most and a business requirement at best.

Calling me a silly child does not change facts...it just shows you have no REAL argument.
