Hey,

Everyone on IS, have you noticed that when reaching your international cap you are still able to go on international sites?? What the hell is going on?? Maybe I missed a topic..

Nope - mine's capped.

Then again I wouldnt be posting it here if it wasnt. ;)

I asked a friend who also uses IS and he isn't capped either. I cant wait to get an email saying I have to pay for the bandwidth I went over :/

This applies to Local Only accounts aswell.. I was downloading today on my TelkomInternet account, Route Sentry messed up somehow, and I did 13GB on my Local Only instead of TelkomInternet <.< (International Traffic)

yeah I've only been using my local only account for all my browsing... some sites like youtube are really slow, but the rest seem normal speed  anyway i'm not complaining :D

I would have to say Thumbs up for internet solutions still putting soft caps in place like this, (if they intended it like this), and also since I have yet to ever be capped on my Local Only, im impressed.

IS is currently worth it in my personal opinion, and they will continue to be the ISP I put most of my traffic through. I know they have their issues, but they cheapest and get more value than SAIX, saying that I will still keep a SAIX for backu when needed (TelkomInternet) ... best solution is indeed having both to work with when needed.

I hardly ever use IS for international, but I like that they give all their customers a form of international access. Once again, if they actually indended it to be like this. SAIX is way to strict on its capping and shaping etc.

yup, old school style adsl accounts. saix was like that too pre nov 2005.

I used it all the way to the end of Feb without hassles, but I only got the account last month so maybe I'll find out in a few days how it really works. I'm surprised that I haven't seen this mentioned before, been hanging out on here long enough :P

I could be wrong but it seems that you are only able to browse (use HTTP) after being capped. My torrents did absolutely f-all the whole night.

That would be great!, if they shape all but say 110 21 80, etc we could still browse and dl international, but no torrents etc. This would be what I call a "Soft Cap" :D

The important thing has to be said, if people actually go and abuse the shared international pool its gonna end up useless.

If they use it for light access, (the way I guess IS intended), they it will be very useful for many people.

If you are a heavy user according to South African terms then you need to purchase international accounts?

Make sense?

Well my friend told me that his torrents were running fine all night. Maybe I'm just downloading *** torrents >< So it seems my initial thoughts are false

Done about 7gb on my 2gb account and still running smooth!

If i was you, i would shut the f-sck up! If you get it, then cool, leave it be, don't go tell the whole world as you just stabbing yourself and others in the back whom have not been capped!

Fsckn twat
