Hi, Does anyone have an internet solutions uncapped service?

Would just like to know the quality of the ADSL that you are receiving.

My speeds have been fantastically $h!ttY nowadays

Your problem is not with the service that you are receiving from IS, but more to do with your exchange that's congested. That 2nd hop should not be that high.

I am using an IS account, uncapped with a decent exchange...

Thanks for the response

Whats the chances they'd be able 2 bounce me 2 another exchange? I hate dealing with them...

I dont have the energy for their bad customer service, especially since i'm in the industry....

I know congestion is a nightmare to fix and can take a while before the exch is upgraded to handle more traffic.

I cannot get a WISP either due to bad line of sight to any highsites, so I'm stuck with this or Mobile broadband.

So then it makes no further sense that this would be congestion, even though the second hop is so high.

If others aren't experiencing the same issue, hrmmmm, telephone line seems pretty fine, no noise on the line.

And these speeds are very frustrating.....I will try a different ADSL account later today and see if that makes any difference.

Anyone else have any further suggestions?

It would be easier to move house than to wait and hope telkom fix it.

Some people have been waiting 2 years or more.

I predict you will have similar results with other providers.

Most exchanges shows congestion only at night, not during the day.

I would suggest if you are going to test other ISPs make sure you do it as follows:


- run a test at a specific time during the day (for both providers)
- run a test at a specific time during the evening (again for both providers)
- make sure you not downloading/streaming anything.

Then you are comparing Apples with Apples and see where the problem lies.
