Hi everyone
Doing a project for school on how the internet connections work in SA. Basically looking for a website or perhaps thread on here basically listing what steps in the chain my smartphone or pc takes to access the internet. I know it ultimately reaches the seacom/Eassy cables but i dont quite know it gets through all the infrastructure here.
I know for mobile it will travel through the operators network then break out into either Hellkom/Neotel/IS backbone to reach the international cables. I assume it will be similiar for my adsl?
Also looking for info about how the ISP fits into the picture with leasing capacity from Seacom/Eassy as well as the local infrastructure.
Hope my question makes sense? Been trying to Google but cannot find much
Apologies if this is the wrong place to post
