Internet usage climbs 70% due to coronavirus

Statistics show that Internet hits have surged by between 50% and 70%, with streaming jumping by at least 12%, Forbes reports.

This is according to preliminary findings by research firm Omdia.

“Increased consumption of digital content from mobile apps to free TV streaming and gaming has already been observed in China and Italy,” says Omdia’s Maria Rua Aguete.

This whole pandemic is redefining network capacity requirements. I know of two large ISPs that have had a hell of time this week to get everything upgraded and ready for this demand.
 
Internet usage up - until they all run out of data after a week.

I think the video you're watching is limited to 720p cause I've got some able to scale back to 4k. They just default to 480p now.
