Internet Usage Monitoring software

Hi Guys

I would like to get help on getting a software to monitor internet usage of computers and laptops on a network i want to know which host names or IP addresses visited which sites and when etc, i want to use it on about less than 10 computers preferably if the software can be free or open source it would be great.

You are aware that its illegal snooping on people without their written consent ? Some responsibility comes with the knowledge ....
 
This is normally done from the router. OSS firmware for routers include Gargoyle, Tomato (Teaman version) or dd-wrt. You will need a router with a supported chipset.

For software solutions, Networx might work, it has a networking option that links the results from each pc together
 
You can use an open-source linux distro called untangle for this. It used two network interfaces, and can block sites too.
 
Maybe IPFire?

I'm currently trying to setup a Raspberry PI with IpFire on my router to do just this.
Just haven't had the time to complete the setup.

+1 use this in our office.. mails me a weekly report of all usage from all users..
 
Untangle is brilliant. Lots of control, good reports, and most of it is freeeeeeeeee!!!!!
