Interwebs Help!

Hi everyone,

I was recently very disappointed to find out that despite Telkoms free line upgrades, due to our cable quality, our line is still no faster. As You may know, Telkom works on a "You get what's available. tough luck" policy. My family lives in Blairgowrie, Randburg (a fairly old neighbourhood i suppose) and the copper to the exchange is so bad that we are stuck at downspeeds of around 40kbps (if we're lucky). We even phoned Telkom to get the port reset and line upgraded to 1mb per second but no luck??

I'm wondering if anyone on the forum has any advice as to what to do about the situation - I highly doubt Telkom will replace 4km of copper for the sake of 1 household (Our neighbours aren't really internet users)...

any advice is appreciated
