Interwebz settings for Nokia dino

I'm so frustrated right now. My daughter would like to MixIt with a friend for the first time. She's got the old Nokia 3600 slide - never used web connection..

MTN has send me the WAP settings OTA 3 times already
I've saved it..24 hr laps...phoned switched off and on. NOT WORKING
I've tried the selfhelp option ( *123*12#) - NOT WORKING

So I've spoken to 4 consultants, the last one told me the Nokia might not be able to read the file and I must get over the phone assistance for manual settings. I've been dialing 083 1555 since yesterday - record time 46min on hold.

Now I'm just up in arms while my child looks down on her dieing hero

Is it MXit that is not working or connecting to website from the mobile device?
Do you know how to manually configure the settings of the phone:

its pretty simple the apn should be set as "internet" and thats it.

I must still download the MXit app, but the internet connection does not work - "subscribe to packet data error".

Can you check your access points on the phone? I think it's
1. Go to Menu > Tools > Settings > Connection
2. Select Access Points > Options > New access point > Use default settings

If there are no MTN settings create a new one
Leave everything blank and set your apn as "internet"
