Hi guys,

I've got 90 branches and I need to track inventory across them e.g printers / pc's / routers / etc etc.

Does anyone know of a good FREE (pref Open Source) app to do so?

I need to develop a system to track my new inventory / loan inventory / inventory in transit etc.

Thanks
J

90 branches is a lot - Why can you not afford a "proper" inventory management solution?

What kind of inventory? Parts/subparts? Do you want to register each asset inside a computer as an inventory item, with the computer as a "parent" for example?

I know of one or two, but they don't scale all that well.

Lol I use an excel spreadsheet that is set up as a list :p :o I keep a hardcopy template sheet with me all the time and any/every single change I quickly jot down all the details on the sheet. Every Friday I spend some time updating my main spreadsheet then back it up. :o I also go through the checklist on the same hardcopy template next to each item to ensure I have removed what needs removing off Active Directory, reported the assets tagged or reassigned to finance department so they can start to depreciate or reassign the asset and also double check I have assigned what needs to be assigned to who or where on my speadsheet correctly.

With everything all over the place, some on the network and some off the network as well as some being remote, some far away, some in our storeroom etc... all with constant moving around I can't rely on anything that does the job automatically. I also have to keep track of 3G cards and printers as well. Has to be done manually.

I could shorten the workload in my case by using my smartphone or the network to do it once, the hardcopy is a temp thing once I find time to handle the spreadsheet I inherited and populated.
