inverter and batteries recommendations

Hi all,

I am looking for an inverter and battery that will power up the following for about 5 hours.
3 * computers. standard 550w PSU
1 * 24 port PoE switch(unifi with 6 Aps connected via Poe)
a couple of led lights

This should also have the option to connect to the DB board and the inverter needs to have wifi/ethernet connector

Budget is about R25 000
 
I don't think you'll be able to draw that much power for 5 hours for around R25k. Running two laptops (plus a second screen) and quite a few lights (all of mine are LED) as well as my ONT / router I estimate my power consumption at around 500W. I started with two lead acid batteries three years ago and they didn't last more than 30 minutes at the end of last year.

It cost around R20k to set up then with all the work to wire things into the DB board properly. Prices have gone up a lot since then

2 of those pcs dont need to be connected to the inverter. 1 has too and the 95 watt PoE switch.
 
The rating labels on appliances are misleading. A 550 W PSU might only draw 20 W most of the time.

You need a power meter to be sure, but my guess is your average consumption is about 200 W or less.

If you can do without the wifi thing then 1kWh trolleys like the Mecer SOL-I-BB-M1L or Kool Energy equivalent would work, or one of the Geewiz kits, for about R15k, stock permitting.

R25k could probably get you 2 kWh.

The wifi and the 1 pc is the most important as it is for a small business. With out the wifi they cannot work

Can always start with a mix? Can upgrade sort out as availability catch up with demand.

Something like a Gizzu for Internet/Wifi and a inverter trolly for computer

The problem with sizing the trolly/inverter & battery is you really need to know what use you wanna cover and for how long. As mentioned before A kill-A-watt goes a long way to get the right thing esp with the help of a battery calculator to size the battery requirement

If you wanna buy time a simple generator can "buy" you time and stay on as a backup in case your final solution encouter down-time.

Thank you, I think i will actually purchase one of the Kill a watt devices and do it properly instead of guessing. A gizzu wont work as all the wifi is PoE powered via the switch.
