Cape Town:

Anyone know of someone in the Cape Town area who can have a look at an Axpert inverter (approx 5 years old) that has seemingly given up the ghost?

A friend of mine woke up in the middle of the night to high pitched alarm and lights flashing all over the panel - none of the places he called was able to help him and basically told him to throw it away and replace...

It usually has error codes when it sounds the alarm, tell you friend not to panic and just bear with the alarm long enough to get the error code then post them here, it could be something simple and maybe the high IQ MyBb gang can help.

If it can still scream there is still a lot of life in it, you know it's dead when it does nothing.

One of my work UPS makes a random click noise now and then, is this something to worry about ?

Or is it to do with the power grid ? I've tested it and works as normal - just wondering why it clicks occasionally.

They occasionally switches to battery for a few seconds, no idea why they do that, the clicking is the relay when it switches over, mine APC used to do that, it's now decommissioned because it ended up staying on battery and refusing to switch over no matter how much it clicked, so no idea if the initial clicking was an early warning sign or if it's purely coincidental.
