I'm sure the title doesn't match my description.

I have a 2400va Mecer inverter with 2 100ah batteries.

I currently power my server, floor lamp and TV.
I have no need to power kitchen appliances.

What do you use your inverter for?

I sell quite a few 48v 24v 2kva inverters, and the vast majority use it for an led light or two, tv/pc, and internet. The other more unusual common use seems to be cpap machines.

I've got a 1000W SPS Inverter Power Trolley with 2 x 100AH batteries. Effortlessly powers:

1 x Fibre ONT device
1 x Huawei LTE backup router
1 x UDM Pro router
4 x Ubiquiti Switches
4 x Ubiquiti Access Points (via POE through the switches)
3 x TV's
2 x Xiaomi Media Players
4 x LED Lamps
1 x Sony Playstation
1 x Raspberry Pi
1 x Synology NAS
4 x POE Security Cameras
1 x Paradox Alarm System

For 2 and half hour loadshedding periods I pretty much have every convenience I want during loadshedding except for cooking and heating.

Does your alarm not have a 12v7a in it?

8kw sunsynk + 4 hubble am2

I power my entire house from led lamps to induction hob/oven and geysers

48V seems like overkill for a 2kVA. Would increase the battery cost by 300% compared to 12V that would easily cover these things imho.

Mecer 2400 With 1 x 24V 100AH LiFePO4
2 x 250W 30V Solar panels

On 24/7
Media PC
Synology NAS
Pi 4 x 2
WiFi
Fibre
Alarm
=69-74W

Other
58" or 40" TV (Sometimes Both)
Xbox Series S or X or PS5 or PS3
Gaming PC
1 to 5 LED Lights
+ 0 to 600W Depends on use/Time of day

Only thing that change in my house during load shedding is where I cook/make coffee.

I use a Mecer 2400. It currently powers:

1x TV
1x PC
ONT
Router
A few emergency lights

Handles it happily through loadshedding.

Twas a brain fart, its actually 24v. We often sell them with 4 batteries so my brain just added up the voltage instead of thinking about it.

I was thinking of wiring it up to the house db box but I'll need to get an electrician and honestly, it's an over kill for my setup.

Any suggestions for a lighting solution?
I'm thinking of buying a floor lamp.

I just have lamps with LED bulbs. You don't need much more than that.

Exactly what I opted for the lounge & LED Load Shed globes for overhead in rooms.

Back in my genny days I wanted a sparky to add a joiner box to split the DB with lights + 2 plug circuits...
He quoted, I suffered a mini heart attack Opted to run 2 extension cords to the rooms that need power.

Using same extensions now on Inverter that's in the lounge, 3rd plug on inverter used for lounge power.

Legally you may not connect these stand alone devices to your house wiring.
Anything that comes with a plug connected is prohibited.

If you want to connect it to your house wiring then you need to basically get a solar capable inverter, and if you are in cape town then there is a list of approved inverters you may choose from, not just any inverter.

Can you PM me if you sell smaller units? I am looking to invest in an inverter for my cctv, internet, LED TV and laptop. I currently have a generator but would like the CCTV to be main priority.

It must be an impressive electrical lead system you have going to connect all this to one inverter trolley!

I assume you are not running all at the same time, the LA's won't last long if you are, unless you running PV of course

A 2000W 12V Omnipower inverter with 200Ah Gel battery and 200W solar panels. Usual load is around 120W which is the TV and whatever is plugged on at the time, lights and chargers.

Just out of interest, not this one right, if not, which one, if they do still sell it? Link?

That would be 167A at full load, that battery will get knackered. S-120's tho...:p

I don't think they still sell it, it's this one, but the 12V, 2000W version. Got it at a steal from a family member who upgraded, it's a beast of a thing and even has charger settings for Lithium for when I finally get the Hubbles.
