Inverter with Li_Ion battery

In response to Eksdom's worsening situation and my broke state..

A Mecer Inverter is just over 2k, and a 280Wh Li_ion battery is about 1.5k.
Will this not outperform 2x 100Wh lead acid batteries and work out cheaper?
 
Yes it would. But are you sure you are talking about 100Wh lead acid batteries or 100Ah? It's a huge difference. Lead Acids are usually rated at 12V and xxx Ah, not Wh.
 
Also, don't think the mercer inverter can do the lithium batteries, doesn't have the BMS for lithium batteries..

Or maybe there is a model that can..?
 
Mecer will not do a standard lithium battery
You need a 'drop in lead acid replacement' lithium battery
like hubble s-100 or those made by blue nova
 
280Wh Li_ion battery is actually pathetic, it will keep your router running and thats about it
You want at least 2000 Watt hours to keep a pc running through loadshedding, and even that is gambling

Why is your router so power hungry..? Almost 100 watt an hour..?? My TV, sound bar and decoder only uses 150 watt an hour..

How big is your TV? My 65" with decoder and JBL Soundbar are around 250

Think the point is your 300watt desktop rig wont run 6hours in 280wh :laugh:
 
Most TV's even 55inch to 65inch use around 65w to 120w (if it's LED)
They are pretty bright even in economy mode.

100ah battery is 1200w (but on lead acid you can only use half<50% dod>.. with lithium you can use 90% , having 10% spare)

12volt or 24volt inverter (pure sine wave) depending if it's 1battery or dual battery setup
 
Yes even taking optimum battery discharge into account, your scenario still paints a picture of a very power hungry router..

I end loadshedding with my batterioes still healthy and not dead.
Dead batteries will not get as many life cycles
So by all means go ahead and use a smaller battery on your inverter if you want

where do you see Lithium battery for that price ?

Jissus bra.. make a cuppa, step outside, get some sunlight and brighten up a bit...
