Investing with Bible

Most people know Sean Hyman from his regular appearances on Fox Business, CNBC, and Bloomberg Television, but what they don’t know is that Sean is a former pastor, and that his secret to investing is woven within the Bible.

Perhaps that can explain why, despite his uncanny ability to predict precise moves in the stock market, Sean is often laughed at for his unique stance on investing.

For example . . . a few months ago Sean appeared on Bloomberg Television. At that time, Best Buy (BBY) was dropping to all-time lows of $16 a share. Sean predicted the stock could go down to $11 a share, and would then quickly rebound to $25 per share, and after that would rally to $40 per share over the next year.

Another commentator on the show actually mocked Sean for his stance, saying “$40 on Best Buy? If that’s the case Apple (AAPL) is going to $1,500. That’s the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard!” (Editor’s Note: At the time, Apple was trading at $650 per share).

Within a few weeks, Sean would receive the last laugh.

Best Buy dropped down to $11.20 a share and has since rebounded to $30 a share, continuing its path to $40 . . . exactly as Sean predicted. (Ironically, Apple has dropped down to about $400 per share).

During a recent private dinner with Sean, once he’d blessed the food, I wasted no time asking him what his secret is for investing so successfully.

I expected Sean to say that it was his years of experience at Charles Schwab or perhaps one of the complicated algorithms he uses for timing the stock market.

So when Sean responded that his secret to investing was the Bible, I was thoroughly shocked.

Yes, I knew Sean was a Christian (anyone who spends more than 1 minute with him will pick that up!). However, people usually keep their faith separate from things like . . . investing.

But not Sean.

For Sean, the Bible is his FOUNDATION for investing.

He explained to me how there is actually a “Biblical Money Code” woven into Scripture.

Sean says it is this Biblical Money Code that took him from making a mere $15,000 a year to now giving away up to $50,000 a year. Sean also credits this code with helping him turn his father’s $40,000 retirement account into $396,000.

Certain investment titans, Sean says, such as Warren Buffett and John Templeton, have already used this code to amass billions.

Really? Did you actually read the article or did you just get the google result url and stick it in here?

Well I found it a bit disturbing that it was the first link related to his name :D

In June, White’s firm, KGW Capital Management, put out a press release saying its Revelation Forex Fund — advertised as a currency-trading hedge fund — had been ranked the No. 2 best performing fund. Of course, it was ranked by an outfit so obscure and so shamelessly geared toward marketing that it didn’t really matter.

“The Revelation Forex Fund is the real deal,” Sean Hyman, editor of Ultimate Wealth Report, said in the announcement. “Revelation continues to outperform the equity markets, precious metals and most of the hedge funds across the U.S.”

And yet, somehow, no one in the hedge-fund industry said, hey, we should hire this guy. What, were they all jealous?

In its marketing materials, KGW claimed to be “one of the world’s leading private investment firms.” I image the folks at BlackRock, Bain Capital and the Carlyle Group just failed to notice all of the $7.1 million he raised from nearly two dozen investors.

KGW claimed that it “raises, invests, and manages private-equity funds, hedge funds, real estate and other alternative investment vehicles for institutions and high net-worth individuals worldwide.” It boasted running a “$1 billion highly specialized currency hedge fund.” All false, said the SEC in its complaint.

White said his currency-trading fund boasted a 393% return since its January 2009 inception. “In fact, the Fund has incurred trading losses of $550,000 plus approximately $1,419,600 in unrealized losses,” the SEC complaint said.

White offered an energy fund that promised to triple investors’ money and provide a huge tax savings as well. He also offered a “$500 million private-equity real-estate fund ... run by seasoned real-estate veterans who have compiled a 5-year track record that has outperformed almost every major investment index in the world.”

It must have sounded good at the Las Vegas “MoneyShow,” where White gave a splashy presentation in May, the SEC said. Too bad there’s a court order freezing what’s left of the firm’s assets.

I wonder how the revelation forex plan differs from the bible code?

So it's not his wealth of financial markets experience. It's the holy bible? Seems legit.

And then he claims that Buffet follows the same methodology.

Right. Moving along...

Never meant rich things but spiritual
Solomon had everything

And again I say to you that it is easier for a camel to enter the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.

The word used is 'rich' .. like in having lots of stuff. Not spiritually rich (which wouldn't make sense anyway) or any other words but simply the little word 'rich'.

Love the way how you lot can 'interpret' the Bible to whatever situation suits you. Yet when it comes to marriage 'you may not lie with a man as with a woman' definitely irrevocably without a doubt means homosexuality and the lot of them should be stoned right away.

Are you even sure 'thou shalt not steal' means exaclty that? What if taking other's stuff was actually cool, and 'stealing' simply meant taking someone somewhere against their will? Or beating your slave really meant you're encouraged to hammer them into a pulp, or even hell was a place that was hot but in all other respects quite swell?

What if you've been interpreting everything all wrong these years?

Sounds more Barnie Madoff than Warren Buffett...

I actually prefer his method of using the bible to make money. Instead of creating his own religion / church and stealing millions of dollars from people.
