Hi Guys,

I would just like to ask, what sort of questions is one able to ask the consultants when calling in to Allan Gray? I understand they can't give financial advice, but what advice can they give to assist in making a decision without consulting a financial adviser?

Also, I have an Old Mutual UT, "class R" which isn't open to new business. The funds are Investors and Growth fund. Would it be best to leave this money here, or take it out and move it to another fund manager like Allan Gray or Coronation.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Airborne90,

As I understand it, they cannot advise you on which fund to take. They can only help with questions regarding the fund you are interested in, for example fee structures, or if it is a RA how to make it regulation 28 compliant.

As for the other question, I believe rather speak to a Financial Advisor. Look for one that is a registered CFP.

Allan Grays funds are really simple to understand, start by reading the fact sheets on their site.

They also don't have too many funds which makes it even simpler.

At the end of the day, you need to decide what risk you willing to take on.
The higher the risk the higher the equity exposure, and visa versa...
