Need investment ideas, willing to put in R10,000 and then like R3000 per month after that. No clue how to invest, except putting it back into my businesses. Even then, that's something I'm still learning.

If you have a bond it should be going into the flexibond. If you don't have a bond others can comment on options available.

You mention your own business. Do you have some kind of retirement investment like a Retirement Annuity. I would start there.

If you're comfortable that retirement savings are sorted. Consider a Tax Free Savings Account, depending on risk appetite, consider something that invests in unit trust and doesn't just earn interest. (ie not from a bank)

Don't waste time on me at this point. If you need help from me, you would first need an account with IB, which will cost you North of R150k just to open. I can then help with the best brokers who will take care of your money and also with a few hints and tips on how to generate a bit more.

What is IB? Interactive Brokers?

Irritable bowels.

To the OP - if you're saving long term, a tax-free savings account or retirement annuity are the two most tax-efficient ways. Look for low fees (10X or EasyEquities).

If you're saving short term, find the highest interest rate you can. TymeBank goalsaves can get up to 10% for R100,000, but personally, I'm not ready to trust TymeBank with ALL my savings just yet.
