To the investment fundis out there..Need your opinion please..I invested 226k in November 2021 in an RA with Sygnia..The investment as of today is sitting at 377k..Would you say this is decent?Just want general opinion as a FA that I spoke too said it is a decent return

Yeah, that was put in at a market peak, so 19% pa is pretty good.

Do you have an idea what this will be worth in 2034 as it will stay there until tgenif you had to use average returns..like a future value..sorry but this is not my forte.

your annualized return is 13.1% per year on this investment (CAGR)
inflation is around 5.5% so your real return is 8%
that is inline with a normal JSE return over +- 5 years... so borderline normal, nothing good

BUT

if you had put that in say Satrix40 over the same period you would have over R500,000, and investing in Sygnia itself would be roughly the same R500,000 depending on the dividends from both.

so you didn't do badly, but you will need to look at what they charged in fees... jot all those fees down from inception till today and then let us know, fees are a killer

0.5% is on the high side, but if its managed then I guess that's what people charge. If it's a normal ETF then that is kinda high... the highest % ETFs are Europe / UK / Japan <-- only in SA for some odd reason

This is a unit trust RA.

Are you only investing in the Skeleton 70 product? (Or are you more aggressive)?

Some funds are whipping it 40% to 50% per year!
