I've been struggling to get computers to recognise my 150GB Iomega E-go USB2.0 external drive as a USB2.0 device. It used to work perfectly!

Whenever I plug it in, it tells me that the device could perform faster if connected to a high speed USB port - which it always is! I've tried this on various computers (with Windows XP and Vista) and the error message persists. The strange thing is, if I leave it to run for a while, eject it and plug it in again, it works as USB2.0. The problem remains after formatting.

Is this a sign that it is about to make a dramatic exit on me ? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
