The battery on my IPhone 4 lasted 3-4 days running IOS 5. I upgraded to 5.0.1 (9A405) on the weekend. Now, my battery lasts just under one day.

There are no applications running which can cause the problem as when I am finished using something, I double click the Home button & shutdown everything.

WTF is going on?!? Anyone else experiencing this problem?!?

Not me. Upgraded to iOS5.0.1 (iPad) and all is peachy.

It do use a bit of battery if I have 3G enabled, but other than that I'm happy with battery life. Been using it for 4 days now without recharging.

They are trying to copy the Android user experience. :D

Seriously though I've noticed it on my iPad as well, I was on 25% when I went to bed and after 2 episodes of Walking Dead (roughly 1 hour, 10 minutes) it gave me the Less than 10% moan.

I also have an IPad 2, wireless only version, and all seems okay. It is the phone I use the most & would like my battery life back!?! What annoys me is that it is a 700Mb+ download each time...

These people are starting to mirror Micro$oft's way of patching the patch which was supposed to patch the other patch!?! Not good enough I'm afraid!?!

**never noticed any problem with mine**

**wasn't iOS5.0.1 supposed to fix battery issues with iOS5**

**:)**

Each time? Since 5.0 you've been able to upgrade from the iPad and that should only have been 40-50mb to get you to 5.0.1

Same thing happened to me.

Upgraded to iOS5 from iOS4.

Then I upgraded from 5 to 5.1 - and it was a 700Mb download. Not a 40-50Mb download.

you mean 5.0 to 5.0.1? Didn't the on device update work?

Yup, sorry. 5.0.1... :o

It downloaded 700Mb. I first tried the on device update, but stopped it when it exceeded 100Mb.

Then I tried iTunes. It downloaded 700Mb.
That's very odd. Mine (5.0 to 5.0.1) was in the region 44mb iirc and it worked flawlessly.

I dont have a battery issue but had a problem with my WiFi, My iPad kept on losing WiFi signal. I recently switched to a Linksys so at 1st thought it was my router that was the problem also the fact that I mostly use my Android to surf the web, I did not bother investigating. Well that was until I saw this now in Engadget: http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/21/thanks-to-ios-5-some-users-lose-wifi-connectivity/

Thanks to iOS 5, some users lose WiFi connectivity

Of all the enhancements to discover in Apple's iOS 5 upgrade, it seems that an unforeseen monster may have snuck its way into the release. We're now reading through a handful of user complaints about losing WiFi after taking the plunge, with most replies mentioning intermittent connectivity and / or a significant loss in signal strength. The issue remains unconfirmed by Apple, but it appears to span across a number of devices, including the iPhone 4S, 4 and 3GS, along with the iPad (and possibly, the iPod Touch). By troubleshooting, one user was able to resolve the problem by reverting to iOS 4.3, then cause it to manifest -- once again -- by upgrading to iOS 5. The recent iOS 5.0.1 update certainly hasn't fixed the matter, either. Could these reports be an unfortunate series of unrelated events, or is there something larger at play? Sound off about your experience with WiFi and iOS 5 in the comments below.

Anyone else having issues with WiFi?

Not me, does the signal just drop off or does it lose the SSID?

In my case, I see the network but for some reason it just takes forever to connect, if it ever does. When tablet comes out of sleep mode I have to disconnect and reconnect several times before it decides to work properly. Its so bad that I dont even bother and reach for the Eee pad.

This morning again I wanted to go to do quick banking and the tablet had all the signs of being connected but could not open any website. Again I decided to go fetch the Eee Pad that just worked. I thought it was a iOS - Linksys problem but after reading the forums now, it seems to be 5.x and nothing to do with the router.

Note this is only on my iPad 1, my iPhone works 100%.

Edit: I wonder if this doesn't have something to do with the way its updated? I updated the iphone using the restore method from a file I downloaded directly and the iPad was updated via iTunes update.

It seems that a number of people had a problem when restoring from a backup after doing the 5.0.1 OTA upgrade. After I did it, I had horrible battery drain. What I ended up doing, as recommended on the TIPB forums, was a full restore via iTunes to 5.0.1 and then setting up the phone as new. It's a bit of a schlepp but it resolved my battery issues for good.

So I've noticed an interesting thing recently with both the SO's iPhone 4S (iOS 5.1) and my iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1) and serious battery drain. It appears to get itself into a unhappy state with the Wifi AP where it connects/disconnects rapidly. The only way to spot this is when you notice you're on 3G rather than Wifi. When you then check the Wifi settings you will notice the AP come and go under the network list. Rebooting the AP allows the phone to establish a connection again.

The weird thing is it does not seem affect the iPads so far it's only the phones otherwise my money would have been 100% on the AP.

Anyway heads up for those still battling with battery life issues.

The wifi mood swings happens to me too everyday, I'll look at the phone and it says 3G then unlock and it's back on wifi. I now put cellular data off so the only connection available Is wifi
