iOS 7 Release Today (18 September)

Trying to figure put the new reminder function.
How the hell does it work?
Got lots to sort out the weekend. Notes and reminders has changed and frustrating me...

I noticed the security flaw in control center immediately... How stupid can you get? My phone is vulnerable now, thanks to someone's stupid idea...

I know it's kinda obvious but turn off the control centre access via lock screen until they patch.

I know.... just enjoying using it though.

But why on earth is -flight mode- option in control center? That is by design, and that design is flawed....

They said in the iOS setup that phone tracking had been improved, making it harder to steal... but then this? This is laughable.

Ok wow now I am pretty mad at apple! I tried to deploy an app from XCode to my iPhone with iOS 7, but saw that it needed to be updated to XCode 5. So I downloaded XCode 5 (2GB), but that won't even let me install, because it requires OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion)! Any way to roll back to previous iOS?

Can someone please check the default weather app on the iphones because I think there might be a problem. I have an iPhone 4 and my daughter has an iPhone 5 and both give the day as saturday.

Been struggling to update the wife's iPhone 5... iTunes keeps timing out. Downloaded the ispw file - but a shift+click on update (Windows) and selecting the file, sees an immediate error file saying I cannot update because the phone's firmware is incompatible....

Which sees me try the iTunes route again... Been trying since yesterday with no luck. Joy.

What is the model number on the back of the phone?: A????

Some of the descriptions are confusing - you should have A1429 on the back (SA version), not A1428. I also picked the wrong one initially.

What file do you have? There are 2 iP5 versions, a GSM iPhone5,1_7.0_11A465_Restore.ipsw and then a Global iPhone5,2_7.0_11A465_Restore.ipsw phone version (I haven't updated my phone yet, a friend said he had to use the 5,2 file to do his Vodacom stock phone). So you probably just have the wrong file - I guess.

Checked the model number, since I thought this might be the problem too.

But apart from confirming that it's a GSM model (A1429), I simply downloaded the ispw for iPhone 5 GSM again, from a different site, hoping that might solve things (first tried Redmond Pie, then OSX Daily)... It didn't. Same error, even after disabling Sophos AV.

Probably what I'm doing wrong then. Anyone that can pop up a link to the right ispw file? Would really appreciate it!

I was using the 5,1 file. So should've been the 5,2 file, huh? What a chop. :)

iTunes on 1.05 of 1.24 gigs - so might pull through this morning. If not - will search for the Global file.

Many thanks for all the replies. Facepalm dished out to myself.

Murphy's law - iTunes came through this morning. Update done. :)

Going to be an interesting day - wife will need to find her way around iOS 7 on her own - will only be able to show her things this evening, if necessary. Should be a good indicator of how different 7 is to 6...
