I noticed the security flaw in control center immediately... How stupid can you get? My phone is vulnerable now, thanks to someone's stupid idea...
I know it's kinda obvious but turn off the control centre access via lock screen until they patch.
Been struggling to update the wife's iPhone 5... iTunes keeps timing out. Downloaded the ispw file - but a shift+click on update (Windows) and selecting the file, sees an immediate error file saying I cannot update because the phone's firmware is incompatible....
Which sees me try the iTunes route again... Been trying since yesterday with no luck. Joy.

What file do you have? There are 2 iP5 versions, a GSM iPhone5,1_7.0_11A465_Restore.ipsw and then a Global iPhone5,2_7.0_11A465_Restore.ipsw phone version (I haven't updated my phone yet, a friend said he had to use the 5,2 file to do his Vodacom stock phone). So you probably just have the wrong file - I guess.

I was using the 5,1 file. So should've been the 5,2 file, huh? What a chop.![]()
iTunes on 1.05 of 1.24 gigs - so might pull through this morning. If not - will search for the Global file.
