iOS 7's 3rd party Lightning Charger Block Activated

Well, I knew it was going to kick in eventually and made sure I found some workarounds online but now that I am receiving the error message when using my 3rd party or generic lightning charger on my iPhone 5, I have discovered that none of the workarounds I found actually work and neither does the only fix on Cydia. Has anyone here found a workaround that they have tried and tested to get around this? I am on my 6th experiment now and still no luck. I won't be able to get a proper charger until the end of the month and need my phone. I can't keep borrowing chargers either...
 
Is this a problem with the brick or the cable?
 
Fsuckn apple and their BS! Istore is having a sale. Had a belkin bundle for 599. This was Saturday.

Why wouldn't that still work? It's MFI-Certified.

The iOS 7 contains a bit of software that can pick up if a generic cable is being used or not.
If you use a generic charger you get the following message: This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iPhone.

Prevents the phone from charging or connecting to iTunes. My brother in law received the message on Friday and I got the message on Sunday after using my generic charger for a month or so...

I haven't seen that message while charging my phone in the car - that's with a generic USB charger and an Apple cable.

The phone tells you you not using an official product. My colleague had a good laugh when I showed him. If it's official I guess they get a piece if the action.

If it's MFI-Certified then Apple is getting a piece of the action :confused:

EDIT - I'd be worried the istore didn't sell you a counterfeit Belkin

You say you can't get another cable before the end of the month? Is it an affordability issue or simply logistical?
 
This is the first time I have been upset with Apple...

The battery life is shocking and gets worse with every upgrade (mine actually improved after JB) and so I carry my cable around with me but it isn't a very strong charger and bit the dust eventually. The official or approved cables are so expensive but now they are forcing me to purchase not just one, but two so that I don't have to keep unplugging them.

EDIT: When I keep saying 'charger', I am actually referring to the lightning cable.

If you're a onedayonly subscriber keep your eyes open for one of these - http://www.onedayonly.co.za/mint-2400mah-charge-case-for-iphone-5-5s-2465.html - I've got the mophi version and it's awesome. Not only because you get the emergency battery but because when you lose or break an apple cable you can still charge the phone.

Also, when you're a bit more flush for cash, consider one of these http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD820ZM/A/lightning-to-micro-usb-adapter - or if you have a supply of older 30 pin cables then one of these - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD823ZM/A/lightning-to-30-pin-adapter?fnode=3a

Certified third party cables should still work and generally come at a lower pricepoint.

EDIT - I've always thought the quality of the cables was appalling .

I wouldn't buy the charger case. Is it an Apple product? The reason I ask is that I have seen that some docks for iPhones are also no longer supported since the update. The Lightning to Micro USB Adapter (I am assuming it is the other way around :) ) looks great. I have loads of Micro USB chargers in a box at home. All of my older generation cables have since found new homes so the 30 pin adapter would just be a 'nice to have'.

if it's certified it will work - my Mopie is and does. Certified means they've paid apple a licensing fee for the right to use their connector.

This is too funny when I just used an old blackberry cable to charge & sync my android phone.

No I didn't buy the belkin. I previously had a cable bought on the interwebs.
