iOS: iMessage and Facetime activation problem

I'm having a problem with iMessage and Facetime activation on my iPhone. Can someone please turn their iMessage off and on again and see if they also have an issue?

Apparantly the activation process sends out and SMS to an Apple server which responds with a message to indicate successful activation. For some reason, mine just doesn't work. My phone stays on "Waiting for activation" before switching to "Activation unsuccessful" after a few hours.

OK it appears that the problem is related to the fact that I ported from CellC to Vodacom. Apparantly the SMS message returned by Apple to indicate successful activation somehow gets mangled. Is there someone at Vodacom who can help me sort this out?
