You think if I take my device to an iStore - they'll upgrade it for me?
What about the places in Look & Listen (if they still exist)?

No idea :/

Also none a round me .... work internet is too slow! ARRRGH

R275 apparently if they do it for you and you're not one of their customers.

Take your flash drive and ask them to put it on for you. They shouldn't charge for it then, and you can do it yourself at home. Make sure you have iTunes 10.5 too (ask them to put that on too)

I got 10.5 the other day ... so I'm cool there!

Thanks!

I just received the iPad now it keep showing I need to connect it to iTunes before anything happens. A friend says that means it's definitely iOS4, as with iOS5 I can run it from the box without connecting to iTunes first.

I've decided I'll keep iOS4 until 1 November when I have my cap back ;) I was just being impatient ... hehe

Thanks for the offer though!

iStore will charge you R175.

I'm not sure if they are willing to copy the file onto a flash disk - in that case make sure you get the right version as they differ.
If they do give it to you please tell us - nice to know for future reference

Went yesterday after work - no charge!

Not sure if its the norm though

The rule is that all new devices must be sold with the latest os, hence no charge -- they will charge for future upgrades though; if it was Apple locally instead of core then it's always free.

Congrats btw; hope it goes well for you.

Yup - Clearwater (JHB).

They upgraded from iOS4.3 to iOS5 at no cost.

I went at about 18:30 - so they were pretty empty ...
