I hope someone could help me with my problem.

I have tried searching the forum for a solution.
I believe this may be a Telkom proxy problem?

The problem that I am having is that my ip address keeps changing whilst I am surfing on the net:
Rapidshare - I get an error saying that my ip address is modified.
Forums - I keep having to re-logon onto the forums as it does not recognise me logging in.

Multiple transparent proxies

If the site can't deal with it,stop using it,or use a proxy/uncacheable protocol in another country :)

Some ISP's allocate a new IP whenever you log in (dynamic). It shouldn't change whilst you are online?

I never used to have the problem before until I got Telkom ISP ASDL.

When I use my Vodacom 3G Card is works perfectly.

Could you kindly suggest which proxy/uncacheable protocol in another country I should use?

Just change ISP's. Telkom ISP is a terrible ISP in any case. Switch to Afrihost, WebAfrica or Mweb.

Unless of course you're one of those poor suckers who got conned into signing a 12 month contract with Telkom!

Sounds like you have Telkom line problems if your IP address keeps changing in which case changing ISPs won't achieve anything.

The rapidshare problem will only be solved by getting a premium account.
I had the same problems with telkom

The proxy server doesn't seem to help.

It is just annoying as it is a similiar problem with forums, that i have to continuously login all the time.

After the 3 month trial I will be changing my ISP.

This may help (worked for me when I had this problem using World Online dial-up long aeons ago): go to one of the proxy detection sites and find what transparent proxy you are going through. Then set that proxy explicitly in your browser.

e.g. http://www.blockstatus.com/ip-proxy-detector http://www.whatismyip.com/ http://www.proxydetect.com/

(I don't think this is necessarily anything to do with line problems. Just very poor design decisions by Telkom.)
