how can I find my internet IP address when adsl modem is in router mode and in dhcp mode. Actually I want to control my remote machine through VNC or Remote Administrator tools.

pl help

Look at the dynamic DNS feature that most modems have.
When you connect it will update a dynamic DNS database with your IP.

Example :
1. You register "idiot" at www.dyndns.org

2. You enter your dynamic DNS account details into the ADSL router/modem which you got from www.dyndns.org.

3. When the modem connects it will contact dyndns.org and update idiot.dyndns.org to point to the IP of your modem.

4. Now you can connect to idiot.dyndns.org from anywhere in the world with VNC (after you set up the port forwarding on the router/modem for VNC)

That's not really going to help him if he wants to VNC into his home PC from some other location.
I mean he could use whatismyip before he leaves home but by the time he gets to work or some other place his connection at home could have dropped and reconnected with a new IP address.

He could write a script that uses whatismyip and sends the new IP to an e-mail address which he could check elsewhere but I don't think he's the scripting type. :)
