Hi there,

I remember seeing on the Sentech website that you get a dedicated IP Address when you take the 512k option. Now it is not there anymore. Have they changed there service?

Thanks

Bernard

Much less about too difficult much more about not IPv4 feasible.

The Ip number registrar isn't too fond of handing out IP ranges...

Also, I have a feeling that we're going to see a fixed wireless service for business from Sentech soon...

Mmm,

Oh well

ps Me=Lazy - Rodent, your USB patch.... are you updating diffs for 2.6.6 ?

I believe you can request a static IP with the 512k option but it doesn't come standard with it. They may have changed their policy on this now though.

you can run a dynamic dns service on your box, so at least you can have a static name so you can VNC or host FTP without having to find out what your IP is each time.
Check out www.dyndns.org for more info.

<br />regardtv, haven't really checked on 2.6.6 yet, just saw a monstrous USB changelog and groaned. With any luck, it might compile cleanly. It did for 2.6.5 ...

Hehe, I also saw the change log and thought I'd ask before even downloading the sources ;-) hehehe

Works fine on 2.6.6...just be aware though, that 2.6.6 breaks the nvidia module. So if you've got an nVidia card, rather stick to 2.6.5 for the time being.
