IP already downloading? rapidshare lies!

this is probably not the right place to ask this but yeah...
rapidshare keeps telling me that my IP is already downloading a file whenever i try to download from it... so now i'm somewhat annoyed because a buddy in america uploaded a huge video of stuff we got up to and i cant download it.

and i dont have a credit card.

anyone know how i can reset my IP or whatever needs to be done?

i'm connected to a wireless router, dont know if that makes any difference.
 
It's because of the SAIX transparent proxy. Rapidshare thinks everyone in South Africa has the same IP address.

Best you can do is keep trying until you get a break.. or ask around here... there are some ppl here who have accounts.

so will it work if i use my 3G modem instead?

@Lord Fubar - thanks man but i'd rather just try find a way to buy an account before i ask someone to download 2.5gig for me.

I dunno, never tried it on 3G... but it should work... cos as far as I know Vodacom doesn't use a transparent proxy. Maybe check in the Vodacom 3G forum. Gonna cost you a ton of 3G bandwidth though.

i really dont mind, plus i can grab it in less than an hour


if you use your 3g modem it will only cost you like r450:sick:
 
You know... there are ways to get free premium accounts for rapid share...

There is a website that makes it for u automatically!!!!

Use google to find it

i have over 8GB left for the month from the company i'm doing vac work for which i'm meant to use to work from home over the holidays now, but it only uses like 100mb a day... so yeah... plenty of bandwidth.
 
LOL, some people are too lucky. I get 1GB a month and only have like 150mb left for the month. Thats what you get for signing your life away to 3G.
 
Same thing happens to me on 3G, once in every 10 attempts though i get a gap & it works. If you get a page that says 10 minutes, make sure after 9 mins you refresh every few seconds
