I'm trying to setup IP phones on a standard TELKOM Marconi ADSL router.

Firmware Version: CX82xxx_4.1.0.9
Customer Software Version: 4.1.0.9_F2_MAR_04

I've stup a virtual server with the following and it works fine. It registers on the network.

ID, Public Port Start, Public Port End, Private Port, Port,Type, Host IP, Addr
1 5060 5060 5060 UDP 10.0.0.3

The 10.0.0.3 has been allocated by DHCP. My problem is that if I ad another IP phone to the router and I get an IP address of 10.0.0.9, how would I go and set it up??? It sais login failed???

I would like to use DHCP and NAT but I dont think that I've set it up properly or NAT doesnt function properly on these routers, or I dont know???

It also works if I enable DMZ but I can only forward to one IP using DMZ??

I dont want to use PPPoE client configurations. Can someone help me with this???

Is there a hostname for the TELKOM ADSL account meaning, is there a way for me to determine the IP address of the WAN link IP without phoning and getting someone on the other side to check the IP address?

yes, there is way to get the ip from the marconi router.

i wrote a perl script to log in to the marconi router and get the IP address from one of the pages. i have lost the script since, but it was fairly easy to write. i used a dynamic dns update script as a template.

a easier way would be to write something that connects to www.whatismyip.com and gets your ip from there.
