Good day all.

I've been trying to sell some of my bandwidth to proxy services like Honeygain. Those service don't accept Usage Type: DCH. DCH is data center, I am a normal residential user but my IP is listed as DCH. I spoke to my ISP, MWeb and they said that the IPs are actually leased by Vumatel, our fibre provider. MWeb does have access to the Vumatel portal and leased me a new IP but that did not change the usage type. According to MWeb, IPs are assigned across all ISPs according to location (area).
I cannot even find a contact number for Vumatel, the number I found says they don't take queries from 1st of April 2021.
So, even changing ISPs won't help me resolve the issue if what MWeb is saying is accurate.

How on earth can I resolve this? Any advice appreciated.

You're ok with other people doing dodgy things on your connection? Not such a great idea.

The description of your IP is managed by your ISP, it is unlikely they would like to go through the effort of fixing this to allow you to open services for a fee :)

OK thanks. I'll move ISPs if I know it will fix the problem, it's tough to get that kind of info out of them. Is there anyone here that wants to check their MWeb connection and tell me what their usage type is, please? ip2location.com just scroll down.

Even if you on another fibre ISP so I have an indication where to move to.

My why and how is not important, let's just say that PC running it is in a DMZ
Just imagine if they watch the weirdest stuff on dodgy channels, it will all lead back to you.

I once helped set up an icafe, the sites I had to ban weekly was really scarey. And this was at my office.
