iPad 3 data connection problems

Just got the new iPad with a 2GB data contract from vodacom. It took 24hrs for my data account to activate, but now my iPad indicates that I'm connected to vodacom 3G.

When I try to use an app that needs a connection I get the following message:

"cellular data account"
You have not signed up for a data plan. Would you like to setup a new account?

I click Now, the iPad then opens a new window which says please while the page is loading. It eventually times out.

Any help will be appreciated.
