iPad 3 screen, more details

iPad 3 screen, more speculation…
 
Is it just me, or are the pictures of the lcd really unconvincing? The ipad2 screen just looks like a zoomed in ipad3 screen. They could very well be the same screen... Even the same photo?

Im no expert, but wouldnt the more dense pixels mean it would use 2x the power and hence shorten battery life?

It would probably need 4 times more power as it is twice as many pixel in length and width (2x2), unless they use new technologies that are more energy efficient which could equal out that increase.
 
The next generation iPad has been rumoured to feature a 2048 x 536 resolution screen, and new details have emerged that lend weight to the speculation.

A rumour with twice the pixels would have been more convincing than one with 4x the pixels! That's too much of a leap in screen cost, power consumption, and graphic chip power required (also more power-consuming) for one generation. Other new features would compete for screen size (audio, responsiveness, storage memory etc) within a tight budget. Surely also such resolution would be lost on such a small screen, unless your customers had really good eyesight.
 
Peeps, these rumours will just be rumours until one is 'forgotten' in a bar again.
