Ipad A16 (11th gen) vs Ipad Air M3

Hi

Trying to decide between the 11inch models of the two devices.

I know the differences on paper but how do they compare day to day?

I use my current 8th gen ipad for media consumption and as a notebook. I planned to re use my current first gen apple pencil. To he the notebook experience is very average using one note.

Is the ipad air and the pencil pro worth the extra money as a corporate soldier? I’m thinking that if the experience is much better I will get better utility on the device

I’m still rocking on a 2018 iPad Pro and my only issue really is that it’s too big so I think 11-inch is the spot on option there and the processing power shouldn’t even come into it unless you have some video rendering workflow need or something.

I would ask why you are using OneNote instead of Apple Notes because that’s likely more the reason you feel the experience is lacking.

As for the Pencil haven’t used the Pro but in many ways I prefer the shape of the original first gen Pencil over the second gen I have on the iPad Pro…but at the same time I don’t miss the charging ballache at all and use it far more for it just being attached to the iPad at all times.

I will say I don’t use the hand writing recognition at all, maybe it’s a leftie thing but it’s just far more cumbersome than it is worth. I rather just take free hand notes and use it like a digital notepad.

There are third party pencils that work and feel exactly the same for far less money but from what I’ve seen they still charge over USB-C and not wirelessly so it’s an optional middle ground.

Aaah I see. You could potentially get away with using the web version of Apple Notes but it would be a compromise for sure.

I did give OneNote a try when I first got the pencil and also found it quite lacking.

There was another multiple platform note-taking app that was quite good but for the life of me can’t remember what it’s called now.
