But that's just for streaming in the house. What do you use out and about? The best results I've had are from Playable, which actually converts the video on the iPad to a format that plays smoothly.

If I want to have something on the device I can just sync it to the device.
 
istores have them in stock, atleast the one on Sandton drive did this morning.
Call your closest istore and check with them.

The myistore.co.za site confirms that the iPad Air is available. Now to wait for FNB to offer it...
 
Just went to the iStore Waterfront to get mine, but they don't have any stock of wifi only models :(
 
Even more baffling. IStore Cavendish just told me on the phone that "it doesn't come in wifi only"...
 
With fast multi core i7 CPUs and SSDs these days it takes little time to convert GBs of incompatible 1080p H.264 MKV video to compatible 1080p H.264 M4V which plays back smoothly on the iPad 3.

Or Playable app which does it all on the iPad itself.
 
Anyone know who has a good selection of iPad air cases in JHB, looking for something like the MarBlue Inscribe, but would like to actually see one before buying.

I definitely suggest Appleberry.co.za - they are really, really good :D They dont have stock ATM, but it is busy being cleared at customs so should be in soon

+1 iPad 3 is gone, waiting for Wifi only stock :D

Also - a tip for anyone keeping their old iPad's - turn on reduce motion under settings. It literally makes EVERYTHING better :)

If I ever leave home, I just sync everything I want to watch over Wifi with Plex Sync :D
