iPad Apple auto correct is glitchy on Mybb - anyone else experience this?

Often I'll select a word on the autocorrect bar using the stock Apple keyboard on an iPad using Safari and it'll not finish the word.
For instance I'll be half way through typing enor(mous), click the word enormous on the autocorrect bar but then it'll leave it as "enor" and just add a space afterwards. I only experience it on Mybb and it doesn't always happen but it's getting pretty annoying now. It also does a few other weird things like the Keyboard keeps losing track of what's being typed so the autocorrect bar starts showing some wild looking words.

I’ve oddly experienced this with MyBB as well but inside Tapatalk not on Safari.

It’s like the autocorrect just turns off.

I must be something to do with the window that stops feeding the data back to the keyboard or something.

MyBB app is just a white labelled version of the Tapatalk app so should be the same but likely an older version.

You have me questioning now if this has happened on the iPhone or iPad and of course now that you’ve mentioned it, hasn’t happened since.

Definitely related to latest OS release.

It's been happening to me for a long time, definitely long before the current OS.
I think it may be related to the Mybb forum software/settings

Slightly off topic but I really thought autocorrect would be better on ios17.

In my personal experience it is worse. Doesn’t matter what I do, it will not suggest “I’m” or “I’ll” for example

It’s been like that forever in my experience and also it has this weird glitch of auto correcting first letter capitals to lowercase, even if it’s the first word I’m typing Into a text entry box.

Have you tried resetting your keyboard?

Also checking you don’t maybe have some weird shortcuts.

Use swiftkey

I got so sick of how the Apple Keyboard screws things up on Mybb/Youtube comments and a few other websites I tried Swiftkey and it has no issues on any websites incl Mybb, behaves as expected and I find it works great, for typing I prefer it to the Apple kb. The only issue is the voice dictation can't be triggered directly from the keyboard, it has some funny workaround and the voice to text is terrible.

After lots of use Swiftkey is head and shoulders above the Apple keyboard when it comes to typing and even word suggestion and has none of the weird glitches like the the Apple keyboard has on Mybb/Youtube, it's a real pity the the Apple keyboard is so bad in the regard because it is otherwise great
