Just want a quick idea of what cases you guys are using for your iPads.

I am struggling to find one and would like some input.

What are the things you want from the case?

- protection?
- looks?
- functionality? (act as a stand; magnetic switch off; bluetooth keyboard; etc)
- price?

I have a leather folio (knomo) - nice and thin, reasonable protection, not great as a stand, full leather grain (looks good), magnetic closure (auto on/off), feels nice in the hand - was expensive but the wife likes it.

I want something that covers the back. I don't expect the case to provide much protection from falls, but i want it to protect it from scratches.
Looks - I am not fussy. As long as its not bright pink or something. The thinner the better.
Price - I don't mind paying more if i think its worth the extra bit of money.
Magnetic on and off would be a bonus as would a stand.

Does anyone use a case with an integrated keyboard? Quite happy with my current case but was thinking of getting one with a keyboard though I'm not sure how gimmicky they are.

Which one? The pixel skin?

That looks pretty decent. Let us know how it goes when you get it.

I currently have another ebay one on :P with a rubber casing, the quality is around 70% of the R600 ones here... I'm hoping the new one will be spot on.

@The_Unnamed, I am also using a Speck which I bought from Incredible Corruption for around R300.00. Doesn't have a automatic magnetic switch-off, but protects both front & back.

I also saw the Gadget Shop (http://www.thegadgetshop.co.za/) has some instore, which looked pretty useful.

@Fudzy, I have one of those Bluetooth Keyboard Cases which someone gave to me as a gift. Used it for a couple of weeks & went back to plain & simple i.e. Without a keyboard. It makes it very bulky to carry around. I suppose it depends on what one uses the device for if a full keyboard is really necessary.

I would recommend going to one of the shops with your IPad & testing what kind of cover you prefer. It is too much money to spend on something you may not be happy with.

I was at China town and got one of those leather type cases for R100. Exact same case sells in the stores for R600. I'm the only one that knows this is a china town case. Pretty good quality as well.

Nice one. I'll try that. Those R500-600 plastic cases are just a way of milking Apple users, screw that.

I got myself one but ended up not using it as it just adds to much bulk to the device.
Will use it out of the blue when travelling to protect it but that is about it.
