iPad 2 cover advice needed

Hi guys,

Got an iPad 1 today and looking for a cover but have nooo clue on what to get. Searched and read a few posts, but didnt get any clearer on what my best option is. I dont want a smart cover as I want the back protected too. I have seen some sort of covers where it folds out and is propped up on a desk/table. No idea which cover it was, but looking for one that protect the front and back, and has the triangle/a frame thingy to prop it up on a desk?

Any ideas?

My bad...its an iPad 2

Can't say as I got the 2 yesterday. But ... Almost dropped it on a tiled floor so I'm going to look for something that can handle a drop, especially corner protection. A cover isn't good enough.

I've got a Speck folio and I'm very happy with it. The back is moulded plastic which the ipad clicks into and the front is a leather cover which can flick round and prop it up as a rest.

Got it from IC for R399 iirc.

Yeah it's the best IMO, don't like the more expensive ones that cover the whole front part if the iPad.

Also got the specko from l&L, in my opinion its better than the official ipad cover, it covers the back as well as the sides, fits very snugly and does exactly the same thing ie it folds up into two positions.

My main concern is that its specifically made for the ipad 2, so not sure how well it will fit into the previous generation.

Ok lekker, thanks for this. Will take the oldie with and check how it fits ;)

Ag, sorry bud, only see the ipad 1 bit now. Too much turkey yesterday I guess.

I hope you come right with it anyway.

Smart covers are an ipad2 thing anyway - the first gen doesn't have the necessary magnets or the switch. I've had my first gen iPad in one of apple's standard covers since day one and it's still going strong. I think it has all the features you're looking for?

Thanks for the replies guys. Found out I got an iPad 2 (was a gift and didnt say iPad 2 on the box cover, but turned box over and what do you know...an iPad 2!). So got a cover and am sorted. Also got a Speck Shield Cover....not impressed, that plastic film to protect the screen...its crap. No matter what I do I cant get the bubbles out. Sure...if they cost R50 I would let it slide...but for R250...not a chance. Back to DionWired I go tomorrow to demand a refund!

I am in desperate need of a cover. I got my iPad 2 a couple months ago. Good covers were outta stock so I got some cheap 200 cover. My iPad is as thick as a laptop.. Haven't got around to getting a new one...

I got the belkin snap shield to protect the back and a smart cover for the front.

Of all the ones available my wife wanted this one...
