Hi guys

Spotted this deal recently on the Telkom Mobile site, seems almost to good to be true as the Ipad Mini 2 still sells for about R6000.

What do guys think? I currently have Huawei T1 8.0 tablet, but this is just to slow.

I have also been looking at the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 (android) and the Proline A933l 8.9 (Win 8.1). Also checked out the Ipad Mini 3, but that is just an Ipad Mini 2 with Touch ID.

Mainly going to use the tab for watching videos, browsing internet, reading books and a bit of gaming.

Any advise would be appreciated

I am currently using an ipad mini 2.

1. 16gb is too small, no room for expansion unless change device.

2. touch id is useful from my experience, input password takes time... :(

3. in few month time, ipad mini 2 will be 2 generation old device, if ipad mini 4 released in Q3/Q4.

Other than the Touch ID, there is no difference in iPad mini 2 vs iPad mini 3. So iPad mini 2 is still a very good but unless you need Touch ID..

Also using one. Like Keigo said 16GB is too little for holding movies + OS + apps.

If you go for more capacity then it has a really good screen for movies. With VLC they can be transferred directly via WiFi which makes managing the collection easy.

Not to concerned about the storage as I won't be storing a lot of movies, music or pictures on the device.

Main concern is that the hardware will be outdated in a year or less and that I have never owned an Apple device.

not sure what you guys are on about - thats a bloody good deal

if it suits your needs then why worry if the tech is going to be outdated ?

only thing i agree on is the size but if you streaming instead of storing the media you should be good to go.

Edit: also if you have cash look out for the ipad mini specials every now and again R2999 to R3999 and incredible connection have these demo sales on ipads every now and again - you can pick up a real bargain there (most of the items tend to be new in any case)

I have seen those at IC. But is usually the Ipad Mini 1 which is just to old
