So the Ipad Air has been out for a week or 2 now. Does anybody have an idea when they will be offering the Ipad Mini with Retina?

Not announced yet, I picked one up recently on my travels though, amazing device.

There's no word at all. In the US it was kind of stealth launched which indicates that they were constrained on manufacturing. I would still give it a month or even two.

@phiber - Don't know if I must just pick up the air but really looking for something smaller hope in the next week or 2 we hear something

@cerebus - ay cant wait for so long if no word by Jan will just get the Air!!!

I really like the smaller size, i think its worth waiting for.

I picked up one this morning at the Canal Walk iStore.

I bought one today from IC. It is a bit pricey but what a brilliant device. It's the perfect size as well. I actually prefer it to my iPad 2. Highly recommended.

It's about 10x faster, half the weight and 3x the screen density. I should hope you prefer it to your ipad2.

Very nice piece of kit. Great update to the original mini.

Sure the speed and screen is worlds apart from the iPad 2. I meant I prefer the size to the regular 9,7" iPad. Much easier to hold and carry around.

The retina display makes a difference. I still prefer the bigger screen though.

The iPad Mini with Retina is what the original iPad Mini should have been. Now is the time to buy if you don't own an iPad. Wonder how many people bought the iPad Mini and now are buying the retina Mini.

As per Onion, the "I'll buy anything if it's made by Apple" approach is more common than one thinks.

We have both the original mini and the new retina model but around here older models don't go to waste. When I upgraded from the iPad 3 to the new mini my eldest got the iPad3, my youngest the iPad2 and the dog got the Nexus 7.

Funnily enough the original iPad is still going strong and gets regular use.

The original iPad Mini is still a pretty great tablet. My wife absolutely adores the one we won on here. Compared to anything else at the time including the original Nexus 7 it was so classy and well built. Everyone complaining that it should have had retina to begin with is blithely ignorant of technological limitations and the tablet market that existed 1 1/2 years ago.

Same here - and we never feel the need to sell anything or trade-in for later models. Moi, always gets the latest (we have 3 contracts), which saw me having the iPhone 5S 64GB Gold; iPad 4; and now MBA 13". Hubby got the Mini 6 months ago, but always nicked mine, so now that the Air is out, he offered to take the iPad 4 off my hands and pass the mini on to eldest son, so that I can take the Air. I just can't quite justify buying 3 major Apple products in two weeks...maybe after Xmas...

Bless his cotton socks - he finally 'upgraded' from iPhone 4 to a 6 month old 5 after dropping the phone for the umpteenth time. The 4S passed him by when eldest son dropped it in the toilet after a week, and the second 5 went to eldest daughter. This time though I strapped him in a LifeProof case, just in case.

Mine is being delivered from iStore this afternoon. :D

Stock is still tight, couldn't find at the brick and mortar iStores.
