iPad Newbie

Thanks, iTunes is installed on my iPad but how do I check out what's available? When I click on iTunes all I get are Terms & Conditions. I have bought apps from the AppStore but don't know how to get music. Sorry for being so thick.

Open the "Music" app,

then select "store" at the bottom of the screen. If you still don't have any music, make sure you are logged in to the US Store and not the SA Store.

You need to open your own US iTunes Store account... You'll have registered a SA Store account and be logged into that store by default when you fired up the iPad for the first time. Log out of your account or scroll down the store page in iTunes and you'll see a country flag, bottom right... Click on it and change country to US...Then, to get to the apps, music and movies there is a bit of a process. You'll need a valid US address and telephone number and a .com e-mail address that isn't linked to a store account already. gmail is your friend and I used the address and number for a Holiday Inn in New Hampshire 'cos that state has no sales taxes (there are a couple of threads on MyBB discussing this already). You need to buy a free app and then select the option of creating a new account. Go through the registration process and when asked for payment method select "none". Verify you mail address and you're good to go.
To buy music, movies, shows and apps, you're also going to have to buy and redeem vouchers 'cos the US Store won't accept local credit card details... Again, a couple of threads discussing that on MyBB... My go-to right now is buyfrompowerseller.com
The process is a bit of a headache but you only do it once, after that it's a pleasure.

Good luck!

Thanks to all of you. I think I have a handle on this now. Guess I should have started long before my 75th birthday.
Does it matter that I already have a South African account?

Nope. I have a SA account and a US one, haven't used the SA one ever but I don't have any issues with the US account.
