iPads help studying doctors be more efficient

Completely irrelevant in SA's public sector, at least. My wife's a doctor and in an environment where even basic IT infrastructure is on the verge of complete collapse, integration into existing processes by means of a tablet of one form or another, simply isn't an option. There are vast opportunities for a complete overhaul of the IT systems in place and integration with less traditional devices such as tablets, to increase performance and efficiency tremendously, but alas, this is Africa.

My wife is in the public sector, she has been studying exclusively for her primary exams on her iPad (to specialise ). In fact all her study buddies have done the same.

Overnight it has become the no1 tool for Doctors. All the online resources and ebooks available instantly, its the perfect device.

As for checking results and stuff, yes its also possible as they can navigate to the hospitals internal websites... but its not being done yet from what I hear

This is really a no-brainer. Discovery is already using it and I understand there is a scheme to give doctors an iPad so that they have direct access to the patients records and Discovery. The private hospital groups would probably follow suite shortly.
To be honest, this is the first real productive use for a tablet computer that makes economic sense to me.
If Motorola were to put a tablet version of their rugged Defy phone on the market, it would make even more sense.
