Hi there
I read about IPCop on this forum. I have since installed it as a firewall pc. It works great, but I would like to add a addon module to my config. Are there any IPCOP pro's out there that could give me some advice?

What would you like to add on to it? The only ones I've worked with are on http://firewalladdons.sourceforge.net/ - the instructions they offer are very good and clear.

The only downside to addons, especially ones that *change* part of IPCOP, is that they get broken when you do IPCOP updates, because the updates expect a clean installation. The advanced proxy addon, for example, is really good and really useful, but when I went from 1.4.4 to 1.4.6, it basically broke the proxy so bad that it wouldn't work at all any more.

Im looking for a bandwith monitor. I would like to log the traffic from each ip address on the network to monitor who the big downloaders are :)

Still nobody that can point me to a mod that logs the data from different ip addresses?

rellik, IP-COPs stats interface is a bit rudimentary for that (although the logs are there in their completeness. What I do is take the proxy logs, copy them to my workstation and run them through SquidAnalyzer http://freshmeat.net/projects/squidanalyzer/ - this tells only half the story: http and ftp downloads (remember to enable transparent proxy).

Although I haven't done it yet, you could do the same for the iptables logs - there are tools out there, have a look on freshmeat.net and sourceforge.net
