iPhone 13 discussions

Does it make any sense to upgrade to the iPhone 13 with its 3-4 week delivery and the expected launch of the iPhone 14 due in September?

You know it's only February?

And considering it’s probably the most radical change in design that an iPhone has had in few generations, the delays for the 14 will probably be longer than it has been for the 13.

Samsung S22 Ultra vs S21 / iPhone 13 Pro Max / Pixel 6 Pro / Xiaomi 12 Pro Battery Life Drain Test! - Mrwhosetheboss

Spoiler alert: The 13 Pro Max comprehensively beats out it's rivals.
Apple are just showing off now, we first saw a trouncing like this by iPhone with the 11 Pro Max but the 13 Pro Max has taken it to another level  how inefficient are the Samsung made chips to lose this horribly whilst having significantly larger batteries? I believe both the Exynos and Snapdragon 8Gen1 are fabricated by Samsung on their 4nm process? Yet they are losing to a 5nm TSMC made A15. If I’m not mistaken Google’s Tensor is also a Samsung product, sharing a lot with a previous Exynos chip?

Looking forward to what the 14 Pro Max will do if the 13 Pro Max is already this far ahead.
I’ve been seeing the benchmarks as well as the heat tests to, I am not convinced by this years Android chips, the manufacturers are going to have to do a lot of over compensation with heat dissipation, cooling and throttling to keep the 8Gen1 under control.

I think I can safely say I’ll wait for the 14 Pro Max, but having played with a Z Fold 3 today I’m also side eyeing that, stunning bit of tech, love where Samsung is going with that device.

Don't tell @eg2505 about these well kept secrets

But, but, but the Samsung has twice the RAM and comes with an S Pen!

I guess the latter at least gives you something to fiddle with when your battery dies.

I'm more and more tempted to move to iPhone, hopefully the iPhone 14 fixes the small issues I have with the 13

I would like to see a smaller notch and I feel it's long overdue that they switch to USB type c with faster charging

Rumour has it the notch is gone, but you’ll need to pull up a chair ‘cos it’s gonna be a long wait for anything other than a lightning port.

Honestly don’t get the USC-C thing… MagSafe and be done with it.
