So I have placed my order for a Iphone 15 Pro Max 256Gb Black on launch day 22 Sept at 03:15 Order number 1020402##. Istore phoned me on 28 Sept, a day before the expected delivery date, telling me that they oversold on these, and that I can upgrade to a 512Gb model for R5500 extra, which I declined. So I am waiting now with no ETA on delivery. Curious to know who were lucky enough to get a Pro Max on launch day, and when did you order? Who else is going through this pain of waiting, hours seems like days:) :) :) It seems that stock are very limited this year on launch, also no listings on Digicape or Takealot like previous years.

Nothing new. It's the same every year. Stock is always limited at launch.
True, but with the Pro Max 13 it was readily available and easy to get from multiple shops before it became short in supply. This year it sold out within 3 hours or less

I also placed my order on launch day at 07:40 for the 15 Pro Max 256Gb Natural Titanium and it was deliver on Friday the 29th. Guess I was lucky then.

I'm on contract, so I did the "instant upgrade" on the Sunday (24th of September), opted for the 256GB iPhone PM in Natural Titanium, received a call on the Tuesday saying it will be delivered on Friday... on the Friday I got a call saying that "the courier arrived to collect the phone but they had none left" and that they will have more "in a few weeks". This seems to imply there was supposed to be a phone allocated/booked for me? I'm still not entirely sure, but it seems rather strange that they didn't simply state that they were out of stock.

To add to the strangeness, the changes to my contract period along with the 20GB worth of promotional data were applied the day after I completed the process online and well before I was supposedly going to receive the device. This seems pretty strange to me, looking at the following point in the FAQ for instant upgrades on iStore's website:

"
What if I change my mind and want to return the phone?
This can only be done within 30 days of activation and may be subject to a penalty fee for open box units.
"

My upgrade was technically activated just over 10 days ago, which would mean I've now only got 20 days left to return a phone I haven't received yet? I attempted to seek clarification on their live chat today, the agent responded with: "Please note it is 7 days that we have to cancel the contract at iStore not 30 days." after I had quoted the above mentioned point. I again pointed out that the text I had quoted came straight from their website, a minute later I received a call from this agent stating that they would follow up and get back to me in an hour... they never did.

It's doubtful that I would return the phone but it would be nice to still have the option should I personally find any of the issues reported with this year's lineup to be substantive. I've suffered through many of the iStore's poorly coordinated product launches over the last 12 years, this is by far the strangest experience I've had.

Not sure why I'm sharing this here, I should probably be seeking out a therapist :P

Hope you come right ScandiumZA, I wouldn’t stress too much about it, you can always put up a descent fight should something do go wrong in that period and you want to excersice that option. Just got a messsage that my order is out for delivery, and some of my friends as well, so it seems that they have recently landed a descent amount of stock.

I just received a call from the iStore just a moment ago stating that they can't advise on their own terms and have no visibility in terms of new stock or where an order is on the waiting list. So your reply has lifted my spirits, thank you. Have a great weekend and enjoy your new iPhone :)

I ordered last week Saturday via Vodacom Online, got a call from courier on Thursday morning, told them rather bring it Monday as I am not in town.

I upgraded with Vodacom to the iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB on Wednesday. I specifically asked the agent if she can check if there is stock before I finalize my order and she said yes. Only to get a SMS later that evening saying "The device you've chosen is currently out of stock. Once stock is available for your order it will then be dispatched within 24 hours to our courier partner..."
I called the next morning to ask about a possible ETA, the agent said they get a batch of new stock everyday - I should rather call them on Saturday. Will have to see what feedback I get on Saturday.

That out of stock message seems to be standard, I got that same message and within days the courier was calling me to set a delivery date, he already had my device with him.

Great, thanks for the info. Hopefully they make contact with me soon.
